What's in the box?

The 2025-26 Topps Definitive Basketball hobby box contains a single pack of eight cards with six autographs to look for. Every card is a hit. No base set, no filler, no parallels of players you don't want.

Definitive is Topps' most expensive basketball product and this is its first release under the NBA licence. Priced in pounds, held in stock in the UK, and dispatched the same working day when you order before 2pm.

Every signature is hard-signed. Topps sends the cards out to players to sign rather than applying sticker autographs, which is a large part of why Definitive holds its value on the secondary market.

What's in the 2025-26 Topps Definitive Basketball checklist

Framed Autograph Collection

On-card signatures mounted in gold display frames, split into Legends, Veterans and Rookies. Parallels run through a colour rainbow and finish at a Gold 1/1. These are display pieces first, and the framing is what most collectors picture when they think of Definitive.

Definitive Rookie Patch Autographs and Opening Act Rookie Patch Autographs

The headline rookie chase. On-card signatures paired with game-worn jersey patches, numbered to 35 or lower and running down to a Gold 1/1. Low-numbered parallels bring in prime multi-colour patches and inscribed signatures. With the strength of this draft class, these are the cards driving most of the interest in the product.

Definitive Nameplates

New to Topps basketball and the most distinctive thing in the set. Each card holds one complete game-used letter taken from the back of a player's jersey, and every card is a 1/1. Assembling a full surname means tracking down every letter separately, which for names like Wembanyama, Antetokounmpo and Gilgeous-Alexander is a serious long-term project. The Nameplates set runs to 40 cards.

Triple Autographs and dual signature cards

Three on-card signatures on one card numbered to 10, pairing teammates and era-defining trios. Dual autographs pair rookies from the same class, including known Cooper Flagg and Dylan Harper and Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey combinations.

Definitive Moments Collection and Definitive Markers Autographs

Short-printed autograph checklists putting active superstars alongside retired greats, topping out at a Gold 1/1.

Relic Autographs and Definable Relic Autographs

Signatures paired with game-used memorabilia. Definable is the horizontal issue with a noticeably larger swatch, and it's where most of the veteran content sits.

Other signature sets

Definitive Auto, Definitive Rookies Auto, Decisive Signatures and Defining Images Auto round out the signature content.

Players on the checklist

Rookies: Cooper Flagg, Dylan Harper, Kon Knueppel, Ace Bailey, Asa Newell and the rest of the 2025-26 class.

Stars and veterans: LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Victor Wembanyama, Kristaps Porzingis, Zaccharie Risacher.

Legends: retired greats across the Framed Autograph Legends tier and Definitive Moments.

About the Definitive brand

Definitive isn't new, but this is its first basketball outing. It launched as a football product in 2015, became an annual baseball staple from 2017, and made its soccer debut with UEFA Club Competitions in 2024-25. The 2025-26 NBA edition arrives in the same season Topps took over the NBA licence from Panini.

Topps launched the product with a First Day Issue release, a more limited version of the same format with additional exclusive content, followed by the standard hobby release. Both sit on the same underlying checklist.

How Definitive compares to our other basketball boxes

Product Cards Autographs Best for
Topps Definitive 8 6 One high-value card, on-card signatures, 1/1 memorabilia
Topps Chrome Black Basketball Low count Multiple Premium chrome design and encased autographs
Topps NBA Hoops Hobby High count Yes A long rip with inserts and case hits at a sensible price
Chrome Update Series Mega High count Chance of Refractor rainbows and rookie parallels on a budget

Definitive isn't a value-per-card product and isn't meant to be. If you want a long rip, plenty of cards and a base set to build, NBA Hoops or Chrome Update will serve you better. Definitive is for collectors after one card worth keeping rather than a stack worth sorting. Browse the full basketball collection to compare.

Break it or hold it?

Break it if you want a specific player's autograph, you're spreading the cost through a group break, or you'd simply rather own a card than a box. Six autographs in eight cards gives Definitive one of the highest hit floors in the hobby, even if the ceiling is what everyone is chasing. We run live breaks on Whatnot and TikTok if you'd rather buy a slot than a whole box.

Hold it sealed if you're treating it as an asset. Sealed high-end product from a first-year set has historically appreciated where the rookie class delivers on court. That's a bet on future performance rather than a guarantee, and sealed product can fall as easily as it rises.

Either way, store it out of direct sunlight, away from damp, at stable temperature, and don't stack weight on it. A dinged corner costs real money at resale.

Grading your pulls

Cards from Definitive are prime grading candidates at this price point. Get anything you pull into a semi-rigid holder straight away rather than a top loader, handle only by the edges, and never touch a recently signed surface. PSA, BGS and SGC all take UK submissions, with different fees and turnaround times. Several UK services will handle the submission for you if you'd rather not post internationally.

Buying from a UK stockist

This is a US-manufactured product, and ordering direct from an American site means import VAT, a courier handling fee and a wait at customs, often adding a significant amount to what looked like the cheaper price.

Our price is in pounds and includes everything you'll pay. Stock is held in the UK, orders placed before 2pm Monday to Friday are dispatched the same working day, and UK orders over £200 ship free next day. We ship worldwide, and we run a buyback programme if you'd rather trade than sell on.

Frequently asked questions

How many autographs are in a 2025-26 Topps Definitive Basketball box?

Six, across a single pack of eight cards. Topps words it as "look for 6 autographs", which is an average rather than a hard guarantee.

How many cards are in a Topps Definitive Basketball box?

Eight, in one pack.

Are the autographs on-card or stickers?

On-card. Every signature in Definitive is hard-signed.

What is the rarest card in Topps Definitive Basketball?

Gold 1/1 parallels across the Framed Autograph and Rookie Patch Autograph lines, plus Definitive Nameplates, which are 1/1 by design.

What are Definitive Nameplates?

Cards containing one complete game-used letter cut from the back of a player's jersey. Each is a 1/1, so a full surname has to be assembled letter by letter.

What's the difference between First Day Issue and Hobby?

First Day Issue was a more limited version of the same format with extra exclusive content, sold only at launch. Hobby is the standard release on the same checklist.

Is the box sealed?

Yes. Factory sealed and unsearched, supplied from sealed cases.

Will I pay import duty or customs charges?

No. Stock is held in the UK and the price you see in pounds is the price you pay.

How quickly will it arrive?

Order before 2pm Monday to Friday and it's dispatched the same working day. UK orders over £200 include free next day delivery. We also ship worldwide.

Is Topps Definitive worth it?

It depends what you want from a box. Six on-card autographs in eight cards gives it one of the highest hit floors in the hobby, but the value concentrates in a small number of top cards. If you want volume and a long rip, something like NBA Hoops will suit you better.

Is this the first Topps Definitive basketball release?

Yes. Definitive started in football in 2015, moved into baseball from 2017 and soccer in 2024-25. 2025-26 is its NBA debut.
